Shades of Gray
Under your spoiled and selfish nature; I suffer, Quick to receive, Reluctant to give, Blinded by the wholesome surface, Brimming underneath with darkness, Your embrace both poisons and possesses me, Catching a glimpse of the shadows, Tempts my curiosity to a peak, There is no black or white, Only several shades of gray, When it comes to your twisted mind, You promise and you assure, You break and you sidestep, I give you an out, Yet you lie to my face, Days ending with tears and frustration, Hopes crushed and scattered, Grains of sand in the wind, Another let down, Another crack in my heart, My patience is wearing thin.
