Breadcrumbs
If I die before our journey's end
I have but a few requests of you my friend
Take me and burn me until the embers cool
Leaving nothing but sooty ash
Smearing white across your fingertips
Take and fill a velvety bag
Loop it through your belt, cinch it tight
Pull out your compass
Put on your gypsy shoes
And begin
Scatter me here
Under sunset skys of rich, vibrant color
Where the scent of sage dances on the wind
Scatter me there
On those moss covered cliffs
Where echoes crash against the rocks
Scatter me everywhere you go
Until your compass is faded
Your gypsy shoes worn and scuffed
Leave me like a trail of breadcrumbs
So you may find your way home
