Dream Walk
I went on a walk last night,
It just happened to be in my dreams,
My journey began when I watched as Thor arrived,
On Iceland Airlines with his followers in tow,
I skated to meet this honorable giant,
On a thick slab of ice, various shades blue,
Yet I wore no blades upon my feet,
Hitting fast forward the next thing I know,
I'm smelling the pungent undergrowth and tasting the sweet mist,
Plopped in the center of the jungle,
Sitting on a worn purple couch,
I'm surrounded by friends and a transvestite with style,
Eddie Izzard is his name,
Comedy his foreplay,
I saw my mother in there somewhere,
As I walked from one dream to the next,
Funny it is to see the dead,
Not remembering until you wake,
In between those fuzzy moments,
They are as real as you and me,
When time pauses it seems,
As I left those dreams behind,
Continuing my walk back toward reality,
I couldn't help but shake the sand from my ears,
Pondering what I had seen.
