Dragon's Breathe

She sighs, waiting in her empty bed
The cold, invading her senses, chilling her bones
Alone, she covets for her lover's heated flesh
Warm breathe upon cool skin, burns
Souls ignite with the first touch
Minds melt, hearts thaw
Sighs escape between hungry kisses
Hands clasp, bodies shudder
Taking only what they need from one another
Seconds, minutes, hours
Neither willing to grant more
Desire simmers in her eyes
Shadows fade from his
Fated to be together
If only a handful of moments
Holding, he offers
Pierced, she surrenders
Tongues sear
Lips brand
Teeth scour
Nails rake
Brought to a blazing peak
Shattering, colors burst behind her eyes
Spent, parched, her body
Shimmers like a blue-tipped flame
Entangled, they lay upon scorched sheets
Soot smears her blood filled cheeks
Specks of charcoal cover his chest
Glowing embers in the aftermath
She curls into his side, tracing the dragon from head to tail
Singing her fingertips, she watches
Mesmerized as its scaly skin stirs underneath
Her gentle caress
